01 12V Power supply by electric system

New energy vehicles are also equipped with 12V electric system, as the redevelopment of new electric components in the voltage system will costs a lot of money, there is no car enterprise who is willing to redevelop, therefore this kind of application scenarios won't change too much over a period of time.

Because lead battery has the characteristics of stabiligy, easy to obtain and low risk, so most of the 12V electrical system of new energy vehicles also adopt lead battery as power supply.

02 Redundant power supply for security requirements

The 12V battery on the new energy vehicles can also be used as a redudant power supply to provide redundant power for safety functions. Hybrid cars, for example, offer power-assisted steering after the engine has stopped. Of course, nowadays it is not just new energy cars that use elecronic power steering.

In addition, the 12V battery can also supply power to the auxiliary driving system, such as the more popular application of automatic cruise system, which not only focuses on safety issues, but also focuses on the improvement of driving comfort and economic efficiency.

03 Waking up the high voltage lithium system

Before entering the working mode, the safety detection must be performed by the control unit, and electric energy required by the control unit is provided by the 12V battery. Therefore, if the 12V battery is in the state of excessive loss of electricity, the high-voltage lithium battery will not be able to wake up and eventually start the vehicle .

04 Security status change

New energy vehicles from the "high pressure system off" state to the "vehicle static" state also needs a second energy source to ensure the basic safety features like the wiper, lights, brakes, steering.. When the vehicles are at full speed, such as in an emergency, the high pressure system needs to be turned off instantly, and then the low pressure system needs to be able to keep the gate lock, sound, navigation system etc. working when the high pressure system is turned off.

After reading so much, it can be seen that although lithium ion, sodium and other emerging energy technologies are gradually rising, lead battery will still occupy its own position in the short term, and new energy vehicles are not so easy to leave lead battery.
