【Data Statistics】China's Lithium-ion Battery Export Value Accumulated 49.277 Billion U.S. Dollars in January-October 2024

The number of lithium-ion batteries exported in January-October 2024 was 3.198 billion units, an increase of 5.6% year-on-year (346 million units in October, a rise of 13.9% YoY); China’s export value of Lithium-ion batteries in January-October 2024 was 49.277 billion dollars, a decrease of 9.1% year-on-year (5.59 billion dollars in October, basically flat YoY).

The United States is still China's lithium-ion battery first export market, 2024 January-October exports to the United States amounted to 11.542 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year, accounting for 23.4% of China's total lithium-ion exports. The second largest market is Germany, with exports amounting to $8.72 billion, up 9.3% YoY, accounting for 17.7% of China's lithium-ion battery exports. The third largest market is Vietnam, with exports amounting to $3.093 billion, up 26.7% YoY, accounting for 6.3% of China's lithium-ion battery exports.

January-October 2024 Fujian Province is still the largest source of China's lithium-ion battery export products, with an export value of 13.41 billion U.S. dollars, a YoY decrease of 8.5%, accounting for 27.2% of China's lithium-ion battery exports; the number of exports of 214 million units, an increase of 8.2% YoY. Guangdong Province ranked second, with an export value of 11.722 billion U.S. dollars, a YoY decrease of 8.8%, accounting for 23.8% of China's lithium-ion battery export value; the export quantity of 1.12 billion units, an increase of 11.1% YoY. Jiangsu Province ranked third, with an export value of 7.853 billion U.S. dollars, a YoY decrease of 30.6%, accounting for 15.9% of China's exports of lithium-ion batteries; export quantity of 640 million units, a YoY decrease of 9.6%. The export value of lithium-ion batteries from Fujian, Guangdong, and Jiangsu provinces accounted for 66.9% of the national lithium-ion battery export value.

Among them, the three provinces with the largest YoY increase in export value in January-October 2024 were Hubei, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Liaoning Province, with export values increasing by 166.2%, 110%, and 21.9% respectively. The three provinces with the largest YoY increase in export quantity were Hubei, Shanghai, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with export quantity increasing by 115.6%, 76.4%, and 39.1% respectively.
