On December 9, Jiangxi News TV aired a report titled “Jointly Build the Belt and Road: Jiangxi State-owned Enterprises Lead the Way”. The report highlighted that Airumi New Energy Zambia Limited (referred to as Airumi New Energy), a subsidiary of Better Technology Group Limited (referred to as Better Tech Group) has commenced production. The battery output from Airumi New Energy is capable of meeting the energy needs of 55,000 cars or trucks, as well as local energy storage demands. This news has raised wide concern from various sectors of society.

Airumi New Energy is located in the Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone in Zambia. This zone is a collaborative project developed by seven state-owned enterprises under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Jiangxi Province. It is the first province-level overseas economic trade cooperation zone to receive official approval.

Airumi New Energy, part of the first group of enterprises settled in Zambia Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone, successfully commenced production in November, 2024 after a nine-month preparation period. This achievement represents a key step for Better Tech Group in paving a localized path in the global market and highlights the company’s helpful efforts in exploration innovation.

 the Belt and Road Initiative

In the interview, Alex, General Manager of Airumi New Energy said that it is the strong support from the Zambian Government and the team’s close cooperation enabled the project to progress from planning to formal production in just 9 months. The company benefited from various preferential policies, including professional guidance in company registration and tariff reductions on equipment. The Zambia Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone and relevant government departments have established an efficient platform for promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Zambia.

With the successful launch of the Airumi New Energy Factory and leveraging the platform of the Economic Cooperation Zone, Better Tech Group hopes to enhance collaboration with the Zambian Government, industrial park enterprises, and local businesses to further promote technological innovation and industry advancement within the electricity sector. It aims to establish a comprehensive battery manufacturing supply chain that provides more efficient, advanced, and eco-friendly energy solutions. This will enhance convenience and benefits for the people of Zambia and neighboring countries, while also contributing more to the prosperity of the China-Zambia trade and economic cooperation zone and China-Africa community with a shared future!
