Better Technology Group Limited Signed a 150 million RMB PV Project

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zambia, as well as the "China-Zambia Year of Economy and Trade ", which was jointly initiated by the heads of the two countries, President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia and President Xi Jinping of China.

To comprehensively implement the consensus of the heads of the two states, in June 2024, the Fujian Asia-Pacific Association started its new route of business visits---Into Africa, together with the main leaders of CPPCC (the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) at the same time to carry out a nine-day business inspection.

China (Fujian)-Zambia (Southern Province) Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference, as the core event of this business trip, was successfully concluded recently.

This promotion conference was jointly held by the Embassy of China in Zambia, the Government of the Southern Province of Zambia, the Fujian Provincial Commerce Department, and co-organized by the Fujian Asia-Pacific Association.

Teng Jiacai, Chairman of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, Wang Sheng, Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy of China in Zambia, Credo Nanjuwa, Governor of the Southern Province of Zambia, presented and delivered speeches. About 150 representatives from relevant government departments, key enterprises, business associations, and media from Zambia and Fujian Province attended the conference.

During the conference, five bilateral economic and trade cooperation projects were signed, including mineral development, fishery farming, photovoltaic power generation, tourism, and so on, with a total signing amount of about 1.96 billion RMB.

Among these, our corporate, Better Technology Group Limited signed the photovoltaic project, with the signing amount of 150 million RMB.

“Through this promotion conference, we expect to deepen the economic and trade cooperation between the Fujian Province of China and the Southern Province of Zambia, to achieve mutual benefits and win-win development,” said Teng Jiacai, chairman of the Fujian Provincial Committee of CPPCC.

Chairman Teng pointed out that President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia paid a state visit to China in September 2023, and the heads of the two states announced the building of a comprehensive strategic partnership. During his visit to Fujian Province, China, Hakainde Hichilema reached a consensus with Zhou Zuyi, the Secretary of the CPC Committee of Fujian Province, to enhance the exchanges and communications with Fujian Province of China, which lay a foundation for new cooperation between Fujian Province and Southern Province of Zambia.

Teng said that there are many cooperation opportunities between Southern Province and Fujian Province because Zambia has abundant resources, great investment potential, and a favorable business environment, meanwhile, Fujian is the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Both sides will implement the friendly consensus of the heads of the two sides in the improvement of economic and trade cooperation.

In this regard, Teng proposed three-point initiatives:

1. Under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative and leveraging the platform of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, deeply explore trade potentials, cultivate new business modes like cross-border electronic commerce, optimize bilateral trade structure, and expand business scope.

2. Deepening industrial cooperation and achieving mutual benefits in different fields such as infrastructure construction, digital economy, new energy power, mineral development, agricultural product processing, etc.

3. Further close communications and contacts, organize business groups to carry out more exchange activities to enhance collaboration in diverse fields.

Chargé d'affaires Wang recalled President Hichilema's visit to Fujian in 2023 and introduced the economy, industry, nature and humanities of Fujian and Southern Province. He expected that the two provinces could keep on good terms with each other for the next 60 years of China-Zambia relations and make contributions to the development of China-Zambia's comprehensive strategic partnership and long-lived friendship. He also extended his condolences to the Southern Province for the severe drought it is experiencing.

Governor Credo Nanjuwa expressed that Fujian is thousands of miles away from Zambia while the two sides share the same goal of pursuing development and progress, innovation, benefiting the people, and achieving win-win cooperation. Hope this promotion conference will help each other to seek common ground while reserving differences to strive to create lasting well-being for the people. The southern province will keep learning from the development experience of Fujian, attracting investment from other enterprises, and introducing advanced technologies to help both sides achieve sustainable development by boosting cooperation in diverse fields such as agriculture, energy, infrastructure, tourism, and so on.
